Who Does Virtual Protype Presentations?
bluekarma's Avatar

Was wondering if anyone knew of someone who does these types of drawings and 3D models of inventions especially when they are IP’s? I had a guy named James in Fla, but after 3 emails and no response, I am giving up on him and seeking another. I have cash to spend. Ready to go now.

Anyone have a suggestion?

Yea, thanks Alec, I finally contacted John as a one other to see what kind of design they can do and a quote on the fee. Also got a NDA too.

Pasquale, if you read above, there were several other options given.

I will try Friending John. I personally emailed John 3 times from his website and NOTHING. I have the $$$ to spend but he seems un-interested, Not sure why so many of you are recommending someone who doesn’t call or answer my emails when I have posted both on here! Really disappointing in the lack of response.

And yes Toni, I know Michael Hall. At least from a working standpoint. I catered to the Dexter set many times over the last 2 years. He is a nice guy and a cancer survivor. All the people on that set are good people.

Pasquale, not sure how you’re emailing John, but if it’s through EN, you need to “friend” him first in order for him to receive it. Go to his profile, click “request friend,” or whatever it says, and once he accepts/confirms, he can receive emails from you. If you emailed another way, like through his site, then I don’t know.

Hi Pasquale,

I may be able to assist you. I’ve been focused on creating virtual prototypes and animated 3D presentations for inventors for over ten years.

Most of my best work is under NDA so I can’t show it, but there’s some material you can view at:

http://www.inventiondemos.com

Cheers,

James

Welcome Pat, LaCava seems to be a pretty popular name. My husbands family comes from California. We don’t know of any
LaCava’s except our close family.

Do you personally know Dexter? Love his show on showtime. Great actor.

That Guru.com is amazing. Thousands of freelancers around the world bid on your project! My only concern is exposing your IDEA. But the site is quite interesting! There are over 200,000 freelancers alone in the US doing everything from drawings to sculpting to architecture to photography..everything.

genius site, whoever created it!

Pasquale, I do need to defend John. He did some work for me about a month or so ago, and was very attentive to my needs. He seems to be very helpful, but I also recently was unable to get a response from him on another inquiry. I figure he is very busy. I know that even a response from him saying he is busy and that he would get back to you would be greatly appreciated, but I guess you will have to hear back from John on that.

Thanks Yolanda..I think I will try your idea about Guru.com Seems after 3 emails that JohnViladi.com would have at least TRIED to contact me. : (
As far as Guru goes are you sure that an IDEA will be safe there? Maybe someone sees my idea and contacts some Chinese firm and sells them the concept? I have my concerns about that as anyone should!

Really would like to use this John fellow but his website isn’t processing emails he is receiving.

My email Pcappiello3@yahoo.com

or 818-231-5281

Maybe that will help

Funny thing is I have sent this John Vilardi several emails over the past week and he hasn’t responded. He has no direct phone number. I have 3 items i want him to do. Maybe he is on vacation? Any ideas? Any others? I am anxious to get this done especially for my cell-phone idea.

Pasquale… if I understand your use of the term ‘virtual prototype’ correctly… then I think you’re looking for engineers using a special kind of 3D simulation modeling software — CAD programs that do mechanical and material analysis and simulation. The trade magazine Desktop Engineering describes much about what this field is about, (www.deskeng.com)
…and may offer some contacts.

If your goal is to assemble a set of pretty pictures or an animation of your concept/idea, then you may want to search for the term ‘3D product illustration’ …I’d check out some of the online freelancing sites:

www.freelancer.com/jobs/threed-modelling

Many 3D folks post their work on Behance Network: www.behance.net (category:engineering, industrial design)

(there are many others)

Alec Klauk – I was in the process of responding to your request for an artist, but after reviewing the galleries
of John & Val (and countless others in google land), I am persuaded my work is overpriced and as obsolete as
a second grader’s.

Colonel – for a LOT less money, John or Val there could produce a scene with an F-4 Phantom in a fraction
of the time that would be like a REAL air to air photograph!

It took a loooong time for the reality to finally sink in, but it did this afternoon… I spent decades learning
to illustrate and paint freehand, using real scenes or photos as a model, but with the graphics programs/technology
now availale, for $2K – $3k and the program’s learning curve, practically anyone can produce better-than photo
realistic graphics within a relatively short period of time.

I’m not dissing either John or Val, infact, I think the UFO hovering over town and the pocket knife virtual renderings
are the most awe inspiring things I’ve ever seen! One of these days I’m going to get the program you use for that
because I think I’d be like a kid in a candy store with it!! <8-D Imagine, breathtaking images WITHOUT hours and
hours of breathing paint fumes!!

Laura,

The term virtual prototype is thrown around fairly loosely. A render is sometimes called a virtual prototype which technically is incorrect. A virtual really is a 3D file generated in some kind of a CAD program. The virtual can be used for a whole host of things depending on the type of file it is. you can get data from it to test weak points you can print it out as a real 3D object, you can render it out to create an image you can render out a sequence of image and create an animation you can just have it as a file that you can spin around to see all sides you can get data from it to know how much materiel is needed to make the object, it goes on and on.

cheers

Val

Pardon my ignorance, I’m new at this, but is a virtual prototype the same as an animated prototype?

Who can do basic drawings that are average to good? I have been asking around, but am having a hard time getting anywhere.

Thanks to anyone that can help!
