Adjustable Toothbrush

Well; I’m so new to this process, I don’t even know what I don’t know! I guess my goal is to either license my patent or sell it outright. I’m looking to have a prototype made by a local company but I haven’t gotten a price yet (to determine if I can even afford one!). Other than that, any and all advice will be greatly appreciated!

I’m an architectural/civil designer with a long background in tinkering but when it comes to this side on an invention I feel like I’m reading a prospectus (I tried reading one once and after reading the first paragraph three times…I gave up).

I look forward to hearing from those in the know!

Thanks
Mike

Hmmm, maybe I ought to submit my toothbrush to Skil!

Colonel I clikced on the “Click Here” and it brought me “Here”. So I guess no one has experience with Lambert & Lambert. Maybe I’ll be the first.

Hello Michael, I have not worked with Lambert & Lambert, but if you CLICK HERE, you will see search results within the EN forums that mention them. Perhaps you will get the information you need.

Here is my toothbrush idea :)

By the way, why is it called a toothbrush, it should be called a teethbrush.

Best wishes to you Michael.

My plan is to either license or sell the patent. I don’t have the money to market myself and at this point I’m not looking for investors. That process is just a little too complicated for this designer (my background is architectural and civil design). I have submitted to other companies (P&G, Colgate, New Trade Network, etc.) and I do have a patent.

Congrats – huge step!!! Whats your plan for this product? Are you trying to license or bring to market yourself? Did you enter it into Skymall? There will also be another Innovation Fund search soon….If you market this outside of EN, just be carefull to protect your IP!

I recently had a prototype made and it works! I’ve had to do very some minor tweaking for the second prototype. But over all, the design is sound.

Thanks folks! I will certaining contact Roger Brown. I was wondering if Skymall would be interested. I’m having some professional graphics work done and as soon as I get it, I’ll give Skymall a shot. I think I have a good product (but then I guess we all do!). There was an article in the New York Times many years ago that stated “anything having to do with the dental industry is gauranteed to make money, all you need to do is walk down the aisle of any store and look at all the different products”. I hope they’re right!

Thanks again, and keep the advice coming!

Welcome to the community Mike … Good advice Andrew, and I will second that. You will find this is the number # 1 best place to be. So familiarize yourself and start searching throughout the forums by using the search bar in the upper right corner, this will direct you to all the past posts and all kinds of interesting topics. I agree with Andrew Roger Brown would be an invaluable resource. I would absolutely submit your idea to one of our many searches going on … Sounds like a great one for Sky Mall .. Good Luck!!!!

You are in the right place! Our own, Roger Brown, has a TON of info on licensing your idea to companies. Use the search box and type “Roger Brown” and you will pull up a lot of information. The great thing about Roger is that he has many very successful products in the marketplace, and he is willing to answer our questions. He even has a great 4 CD set that also explains in great detail the licensing process and give real life examples (available on his website). And, of course, you could also enter your product in EN searches! Good Luck!
