Hello, I am looking for advice for a selling an idea to company. The concept is a augmentation to a product. Can anyone help me start in the right direction. I just do not want to give them the idea flat out stupidly.

thanks

In the book “The Independent Inventor’s Handbook” by Louis Foreman and Jill Welytok, on page 2 it states “Ideas are rarely, if ever marketable commodities until they become inventions”. Suggest you pick up the book.

I would also point out not to spend a lot of money on your idea before you know if anyone is interested in the idea to begin with. Contact the company and see if they are willing to look at outside ideas and if they have an NDA you and they can sign before submitting your idea. See if you can make a sell sheet for your idea to submit for your presentation. You can see examples of sell sheets at my website.

Roger,

Thanks for the reference to your sell sheets. That is a huge help.

A bit off topic here, but are you still looking for a publisher for Guerilla Inventing? I may have a good recommendation for you. We can take it offline if you like.

Rich, glad the sell sheets help. On the book topic I am going to self-publish it. Thanks anyway.

Ok Roger. I would offer you good luck, but I have a feeling you don’t wait for luck to come and find you.
