Invention In Need Of License Agent

I have a product and prototype. I am in the process of getting it patent pending. The product is an household item. I am looking for a legit licensing agent to get my product license. Anyone recommended a good company that specializes in the housewares industry? thanks

I’m with Jane J. on this Jason. I read recently on the help section, under contact us, that EN would like not to charge, but for administrative and development reasons, they do charge the small fees. I had conversed with an individual licensing agent in the past and they charged quite a bit to review an idea. I would take into account the professionalism, the many contacts and publicity that EN has been dealing with, and their good customer service when thinking of submitting to them.

If you have the chance, try to look at EN’s blog and you can read about their focus and strengths. Also check EN’s FAQ section. I hope this helps you with considering your submission(s). I as well have been told not to give money to organizations, but in consideration of the business that EN is in and with the numerous submissions that they receive, the small fees to me are understandable.

EN is a great place, hope that you settle in. Best to you.

Just read a few Q&A posts, Jason. It should become clear fairly quickly.

S25.00 to find out if your idea can go from just an idea to a product on the shelf is NOT the same thing as asking for money to evaluate an idea. They never say they’ll try to license your idea for you for a fee. Nobody would say they would do that for 25.00 anyway! EN is in business to partner with the inventor and bring success to both parties. They make their real profit only IF your idea is a hit with the sponsor, not on the 25 bucks.

And just think about it. They have to charge something or they’d get a ton of people just submitting a bunch of junk. Too many ideas to wade through and evaluate— the system would grind to a halt.

Rather than taking your chances with a “licensing agent”, you might be better served by just submitting your idea to the consumer product fund search or the Presto LPS, if it’s a match for their criteria.

ok, I read on the internet that if a company makes you pay to submit idea to stay far away as they could be scammers. Why does edisonnation make me pay a fee to submit an idea? thanks

Actually, you are in the right place. EN is the perfect solution to what you are looking for. They have an Innovation Fund with a “consumers” category and others. Click on dashboard at the top of your screen and see if your product fits into any of the categories.
