Is This Site ligitimate???
zcaptain's Avatar
Angelo Landri

I went to this sites “Successes” page and there isn’t that many successes, and even fewer that say they’ve sold over 1 million. Does anyone know if this site is for real, or do they just take your money and say they’re gonna do all these great things with your invention IF it gets selected?

Don’t take this post wrong, I’m not downing on this site. I’d just like to make absolutely sure that it’s legitimate before spending money here.

Thanks

Love the pic of Margaret Frank! You’ve captured her true essence!!!

We really need an individual thread called ‘The Best of Frank’….where we can see all your funny artwork! Like the one of Bag-face/Biz-Quick. And there have just been sooooo many. Too many to count!

Parasidic Host is a layman’s term for Hyperparasitism.
Those familiar with Microbiology excuse/understand the use of the term.

Microbiology is a scary science, one inwhich I have been a student
of for 28+ years in my profession. My kids have labeled me “paranoid” due
to the exposure, for the truths contained therein makes one look at their
surroundings completely different.

The mother of my youngest daughter’s best friend scratched her arm on
something where she worked… 5 days later her friend called and said her
mom was acting like she was spaced out on drugs; I told her to IMMEDIATELY
call 911…. at the hospital it was determined she had Septicemia so they started
antibiotics to try and localize the particular bacterea…. they couldn’t, and
a couple days later she died. She was just 36 years old.

The subject matter was “Parasidic Host”. My position was that a parasidic host is a contradictory oxymoron and impossible. I was then made wrong. Now that it is right again since you said…" You’re right, there is no proper term “Parasidic Host”… all is good.

Fun science though.
Thanks Greg for the sentences! You’re The best!

Example of Hyperparasitism….

A snail is the Host of the primary parasite, which is the Larva of a Monostome Redia… within the Redia
is a developing Cercaria.
The Monostome Redia is feeding off a snail (it’s host), and the Cercaria is feeding off the Monostome Redia (it’s host).
The Cercaria depends on the Monostome Redia (which makes the Redia its PARASIDIC HOST “Hyperparasitism”), which depends on the snail (the INVERTEBRATE HOST)

You’re right, there is no proper term “Parasidic Host”, the same as there are no such terms as HUMAN or ANIMAL or FISH… or INVERTEBRATE HOST either.
Examples:
Malaria is caused by Hyperparasitism (a parasidic host) within the mosquito parasite….
Bubonic Plague was caused by Hyperparasitism within the flea parasite….
Lyme Disease is caused by a Borrelia Hyperparasitism within a deer tick…
…and the list goes on and on.
In many/most cases, Hyperparasitism exist within the vector, be it the first, second, third, or fourth generation; in other words, there could be several Hyperparasites within the primary parasite, each depending on the other.

For dear Frank,
hy·per·par·a·sit·ism (hpr-pr-s-tzm, s)
n.
A condition in which a secondary parasite develops within a previously existing parasite.

A parasitoid is an organism that spends a significant portion of its life history attached to or within a single host organism in a relationship that is in essence parasitic; unlike a true parasite, however, it ultimately sterilises or kills, and sometimes consumes, the host. Thus parasitoids are similar to typical parasites except in the more dire prognosis for the host.

Again, there is never a mention anything about a “parasitic host”. In fact there is a clear distiction between the parasite and the host. Parasitoids are clearly not a parasite… They have a relationship that is “IN ESSENCE PARASITIC” that means apparently not actually. A parasite can contract a parasite true but the host cannot still be parasitic in relationsip to the organism that it is hosting. Thus and finally the term “Parasitic Host” still does not exist. Perhaps you can draw up a caricature… nice work!

Greg, Are those sentences done yet? I need those on my desk in 40 minutes.

First of all, thanks for the congrats everyone… BUT here is the TRUE Killer. When I saw Margarets MC HAMMER comment and the following photo by Frank, I knew I had to share this. Believe it or not, but I would not even be in America, if it wasnt for MC Hammer… Why? Well, in my past life I was a dancer = Jazz and Street Dance. I won my German and European Championships with – now get this - To legit to quit… My short hour of fame allowed me a trip to the U.S.A. beginning of the 90’s and I got hooked. So to this day, I see MC Hammer as one of my inspirations and reasons for success… I will post in his music memory a picture of me wearing on of his outfits…soon. So you all will have a BIG laugh…

Achievement announced. The test phase on TV will start hopefully the next 4 – 6 weeks. Its going to be like Betsy’s “Eggies” ,hopefully or GyroBowl, I am not saying “Snuggies”, that would just be crazy. Even if not, I will still talk positive about the experience. There is nothing bad to say, when it comes to getting a fair shot at millions (or thousands of dollars). Of course Greg, you are my idol right now. Getting on the show, being on TV is more then we can wish for. You earned it, brother! Looking at your portfolio, I believe you and your wife also had a big share of trial and error in life, with business ideas. I am truly a “King” in that dream land, as well. But that is what makes us so multifaceted and relentless. Its fun.

Michael, whoa wait a minute. Did you just announce a great achievement? Please do provide more details, like some yips and hoorays. Congratulations!
Richard, you are right we seem to have more fun when we change the direction of the topic. How long can a topic survive on testimonials about the legitimacy of E. N.? It is what it is. My sincere apologies to all of you who are sick of that phrase but it seems apropos for the moment.
Fluidity is what turns these topics into conversations and humor is the spice that makes them palatable.
For instance: Frank sparring with Chappy is priceless to my experience here. Biskits contributions are always practical yet more fun when he’s feeling edgy.
I freely acknowledge a propensity to wander “off topic” and an unapologetic commitment to irreverence solely for the sake of fun.
What do you say Angelo?

Then you’d SURELY not mind relating the definition of Hyperparasitism here where everyone can see it?

While you’re at it, define Parasitoids also.

The thing about Hookworms(or any other parasidic organism for that matter), unless they were raised in a steril laboratory, they likely play host to Hyperparasites, thus, PARASIDIC HOST! (you have to use the right words when googling!) <;-)

Host-Parasite is a simple relationship. If the organism is a parasite it is feeding off the host. If the term “host” Is described to be that of a parasite, the parasite cannot be a host to the organism that it is feeding off. The parasite/host relationship is neo-darwinistic. What thumbs its nose in the face of darwinism is symbiosis where an organism sets a goal to protect another organism and the same relationship benefits the first organism equally or greater.

An organism can only be either a parasite or a host NOT a parasitic host. In your scenario the hookworm is a parasite and the organism the hookworm is inside is the host. If by some strange set of events the organism started eating the hookworm to stay alive while the hookworm fed on the host organism then there could be a parasitic-host relationship going on. Not is that proposterous it is disgusting and I cannot think of a single instance of a relationship between two organisms that is like that.

Name a single parasitic host. While an organism can be either a host or parasite if that relationship changes to benefit the host then there is no longer a parasite. There is only a relationship. In some regards it has been called a new sexuality on the genetic scale.

See pg127 and pg128 in http://www.warwick.ac.uk/philosophy/pli_journal...
