Hi,

I have just provisionally patented 2 ideas and now 3 companies are interested in them and want to move to the next step. should i get a lawyer now or wait. and what would the next step be. Obviously file a standard patent, contract between both parties, ?

Quick question if I may…. are these companies invention development type companies OR actual retailers and/or manfacturers? If they are the later, I would be encouraged. If the are the former, I would respectfully suggest that you watch out for your wallet and proceed with EXTREME caution. Just my 2 cents.

I second what K J mentioned below. About 20 years ago I contacted one of the invention scammers and they were interested in a product I had. Needless to say I did my homework before giving them anything to make sure they would do what they said and found they were not legit. The fun part was I got to tell them they pretty much sucked on the phone when they called back to see if I would proceed. Google the companies interested in your products and if you find anything questionable you may want to put out a question to see if anyone has any good or bad experiences with them on EN.
