Selling product at holiday markets

For those that are currently selling a product, have you ever looked into the holiday market circuit? This might be regional, but it is where a non-profit organizes a large holiday market as a fundraiser. Merchants rent out booths and the public buys tickets to attend special events and shop all the merchants.

Anyway, I’ve been helping with the set up for a local market and noticed that pillow pets had a booth (I instantly thought of Julie). I also have an idea for a product that I think would be perfect for that environment. I was speaking with one of the vendors and they said they do about 20 shows a year and that is their entire business (they sell gift wrap items). Just curious if anyone with a product has participated or looked into this.

Thank you for thinking of me, Carrie, and sending the e-mail. I HAVE tried this type of show but demonstrating a product which never existed before, and which needs explanation, complicates the logistics of being behind a 6’ or 10’ table.

Although I have sold many, many here in Yuma, it is difficult to sell an item which keeps your head warm when it is 91 degrees out a 10 in the a.m. in Nov.

Again, thanks…
