OK you make it to G8 and EN showboats it to the Company ….The company decides
they love it and thinks it will hit pay dirt and offer a few Million $ outright for the whole ENCHILADA.

What Happens with a scenario like this ?

Most companies don’t make offers like that. It is more realistic for them to pay a royalty since they have no idea what the lifespan of an item might be. You could have a product that sells like crazy the first year and then something new and better comes along and yours drops like a brick. The only time you normally see companies offer large sums of money is if you started a company around your product and they see the sales history of the product and want to own that market share.

Ouch. In the past I tried not to think of things like that. Reason being: If you have good patent protection in place, a consumable or short life item (people have to /want to rebuy it) you can make a lot over the life of the patent(s). With today’s economy like it is, sometimes some million in the hand may be worth more than the promise of millions down the road. If the offer from a company was good enough, it would def be worth strong consideration. But EN being our agent makes that call once you hit G8 if I’m not mistaken. You and I are removed from the decision making process. Not that it’s a bad thing, just saying remember where the ownership now lies.

Being a SharkTank Semi-Finalist for Season3 had me thinking those same thoughts as Mark Cuban likes to out gun the other sharks as he is a billionaire.
