I got some news… :~)
I got an email from EN today. They said WPH is very interested and I need to send them my prototype. I don’t know how I will survive without it! Wish me luck!!!

Wow! Bridget! Hey, that is great news! At least we have some interest and confirmation that things are moving forward! Way to go!

I asked EN if I’d get my prototype back – they said that it is likely WPH would keep my prototype if they move forward with my idea. If not, EN said they’d send it back to me! I will go without to see this product reach WPH’s distribution network!

That’s good, Bridget! I got an email asking for a prototype also….went to the store to go get some stuff and am creating it tonight.

For those that didn’t get a request, I’m doubtful that they’ve made all their decisions or else they would have posted some reds and let us know something.

Congratulations Bridget & Mike! I read your great news here and figured I’d better check my email and I am really glad I did. WPH wants my prototype for my 2nd submission – the one I ALMOST didn’t send in. I am so glad now that I did.

As far as all of our other ideas, no red light is still good news. They must have been very impressed with all of our ideas since no one has gone red. Good luck all!

Well, as of 10:13pm Monday night, I’m still G7 on WP Broad. No emails (I checked my regular email and junk mail box twice!).

I’m happy just to “hurry up and wait”.

Congrats Bridget, Mike & Carol! I imagine your heart was racing when you read the email!!! I haven’t gotten a request and am still green on 7. It is a good place to be for the moment. I am just going to enjoy the finalist status for now and hope for the best :)

Well, since you’re all posting, I’ll go ahead and let everyone know that we were also asked for our prototype earlier today and I’m sewing away…. I decided my rough prototypes weren’t good enough and I’m sewing a full sized version. It’ll be a busy night and day tomorrow.

Congratulations to those that received an email and to those still waiting, don’t lose heart. I’m sure they are still evaluating and doing some market and production research.

Second, did all of you check the “yes” box on the form where it asks if you had a prototype?….Before I get too bummed out, I know that I checked “no”, as I do not have one and could not make a decent one…..Thanks!

I checked “no”, as I didn’t have any kind of prototype. I made some last night and will finish them up today. I don’t know about the others, but mine is a completely new thing….and I think they want to actually “see” what I’m talking about.

I checked no also. I didn’t actually have a prototype when I submitted the idea, just a design. My mom sewed my prototype for me about two weeks ago, but I did email EN and they allowed me to send photos of the finished product.

Don’t get bummed Greg …. the red lights aren’t flying yet.

I had made a couple of basic prototypes for my submission. They asked for them yesterday.

When do you get your 2500 down payment for Spencer’s?….

I’m not sure what to think and could use some feedback since this is my first EN invention. I’m still at a G7. I wasn’t asked for a prototype, maybe because my idea was so simple they didn’t need one. Is EN still working on updating G7s?

Greg, I’m checking the mailbox every day! Should be in the next week or so.

Inga, the dashboards for those in the WP hunt should be updated tomorrow. For some perspective, after they presented 47 ideas to Spencer’s, they came back and hit RED on about 20 of those ideas and the others stayed Green for about 5 weeks or so.

Cool! I was just curious if it was a year wait, six months etc…Sounds like they get that part to you fairly quickly and of course, the royalties will be a while out….I hope I am in your shoes one day! Have you asked them about what happens in the event another retailer sees your idea on Spencer’s shelves and wants to sell it too? Does EN get that control, or does Spencer’s pretty much get an exclusive? If so, when does the exclusivity expire? …. The reason I ask is that I would hope your idea may end up being retailed by multiple companies!

I heard thru the grapevine that prototypes are not always required or even requested…However, some companies will request them for clarification on materials, dimensions, construction techniques, etc….If you are G7 on your first ever invention, you should pat yourself on the back no matter what happens! By the way, watch your dash tomorrow – looks like our day is tomorrow…

Greg, the contract states that the initial advance check will be sent within 30(?) days (or close) of the executed contract. The royalty checks will be sent roughly within 30 days of Dec. 31st. So my next check should be next January, assuming they actually get made and someone actually buys them! My contract is strictly between EN and me….no info as to EN’s contract with Spencer’s. I’ve had some questions for EN, but thought I would wait until this crazy rush is over with the LPS.

Yay! Glad to hear Leigh, Sherree and Greg M. are all still in it. I’m still G7, getting my prototype ready to send. Need to find time, a box and a post office ASAP!

Well, my prototypes should be arriving at Enventys today. I went to UPS to ship them and about passed out when they quoted me the prices…$197.00 to have it there the next morning; $137.00 to have it delivered by 3:00pm the next day; $94.00 to have it delivered by end of day Monday (I shipped on thursday); $67.00 to have it delivered by end of day on Tuesday. so, i said, “No, thank you” and went to the good old post office. It cost $56.00 to have it delivered the next morning and that included insurance, delivery confirmation and a signature! I think my days of shipping with UPS are over!

I would love to know what was in that box! Must be substantial!

Greg, the box only weighed 9 pounds! And some day soon you WILL know what was in it!

K&B, I hear your pain. I had to go ground on a nearly 20lb. box. With the insurance I think my final total was a little over $81.

Tick tick tick… let’s see, 37 days and counting!

Still not sure how many total ideas were presented. Just know we’re currently one of 18.

I believe John Meacham said that 45 ideas were presented and they are currently considering 18. Let’s hope they like them all!

Hmmm, 45 days from presentation…..ideas presented on November 6….45 days later is December 21….but are they calculating 45 days or 45 BUSINESS days??
