Description
The Clorox Company is committed to making products that promote a cleaner world and healthier homes. From the kitchen and the bathroom to schools and daycare, Clorox Company disinfecting products play a crucial role in helping to kill and reduce the spread of the bacteria, fungi, and viruses that can make us sick.
For this challenge, Clorox is seeking novel product ideas to aid consumers in reducing the spread of the bacteria, fungi, and viruses that can make us sick. Acceptable submissions should be unique or protectable, and will provide relevant details regarding the technologies that will enable commercialization of the idea.
While submissions need not be limited to traditional home cleaning categories, Clorox is not interested in new ideas for personal care products, pharmaceutical drugs, or medical devices.
Potential areas of interest include, but are not limited to:
• Novel delivery systems
• Unique cross-market applications of existing technologies or products
• New packaging concepts
• Alternatives to chemical biocides
Some suggestions on how to improve upon existing products:
• Increase effectiveness (at reducing the spread of infection)
• Increase consumer confidence in the product / results
• Reduce effort required
• Provide multiple benefits or increase versatility
Inventors should consider that successful consumer products tend to share several qualities:
• Intuitive and easy to use
• Convenient
• Safe to use around people & pets; not harmful to the environment
• Priced reasonably for the benefit they provide
• Differentiated – providing a unique or significantly improved benefit compared to existing products
Reward
Selected ideas will receive a $2,500 minimum advance on 20 years percentage of sales or buyout. We split the royalties 50/50 with you on the products that we select. Royalties vary based upon the product but we always earn industry-leading rates.
Requirements
We encourage you to submit a visual representation of your product (i.e., sketch or photo). While not required, we highly encourage you to submit video of yourself demonstrating a prototype and explaining the features and benefits of your submission. Please be as detailed as possible in telling us about your innovation.
