The Edison Nation Innovation Fund is all about, well, innovation. We’ve already become a leader in the consumer product space and now we’ve got our sights set on Tech.
Tech may sound like R2-D2, Star Trek or Steve Jobs to you but all great technologies start with a simple spark of inspiration. Just ask Mark Stark, Edison Nation member and inventor of the “Natural Dexterous Hand.” Mark’s idea was selected for our first ever Open Search and is on its way to helping countless amputees worldwide. Click here to learn more about Mark’s invention.
We’re searching for innovations in the technology space, including new applications and materials in the defense, green energy and medical spaces. This is an Open Search so if you have a technology idea that doesn’t fit those categories, we will still consider it.
Don’t forget, if you’re an Insider and have a patented or patent-pending idea, submitting it to any Innovation Fund search will also automatically enter it in the Insider Licensing Program!
We ask for well-communicated ideas. This includes filling out our easy-to-use submission form to the best of your ability. Upload images, sketches and any other media that support your idea. Tell us your story. We even encourage you to create a video demonstrating your innovation. Don’t worry. We aren’t expecting you to break out your inner Spielberg. Please keep videos to less than 2 minutes.
We have launched the Edison Nation Innovation Fund to search for, invest in, and bring to market those ideas that break the mold. Please be sure to research your idea and take the time to tell us why your concept needs to be developed and brought to consumers.
Cost to pitch your idea:
$100 (just $35 for Insiders).
Introductory Offer: $25 (just $20 for Insiders)!
You may not opt-in previously submitted ideas to the fund. If you have previously submitted an idea that you believe we must consider, please create a new entry in your idea database and refine your idea to best fit this search.
More Information about the Edison Nation Innovation Fund
When we launched Edison Nation, we partnered with major retailers and manufacturers to help them fill specific product needs through our Live Product Searches. Along the way we’ve learned that many great ideas come when you aren’t looking for them at all. With the Edison Nation Innovation Fund, we are searching for, investing in and bringing to market those ideas that break the mold.
If your idea is chosen, we will invest up to $250,000 development dollars into your innovation and bring it to market – just like the ideas featured in our television series, Everyday Edisons. You will have a development partner in Edison Nation for life and receive an industry-leading royalty.
There is no limit to the number of ideas we will choose for each search.
Is my idea secure?
Yes! Every idea that is submitted to Edison Nation remains private. If your idea is selected to be presented to a partner, we have strict NDAs in place. Your intellectual property is extremely important to us.
If my idea is selected, what do I get?
If your idea is selected for licensing, we will remain in contact with you and our partner from the moment the deal is signed until it is ready for the marketplace. Our team negotiates competitive royalty structures and all licensing revenues are split 50/50 with you, the original inventor.
Why do I have to pay $25?
$25 is a nominal fee to help offset the costs Edison Nation takes on to review each idea that's submitted. It is a one-time cost. If your idea is selected for licensing, we will navigate the road to commercialization -- all at no cost to you. If you are an Edison Nation Insider, the submission fee is only $20!
What do I need to submit?
We'll review all ideas, whether it's a sketch on a napkin or a prototyped invention. You don't need a patent to submit an idea to Edison Nation.
