Think about the heart of your home and the activities that take place there. Maybe it’s doing craft projects, paying bills or helping kids with their homework. All of these things require stuff that doesn’t live there permanently (and if it does, you probably don’t want it to!). Think through the process of doing each of these activities, where the items live, how they are transported, and what you do with the items when they are being used.

What great ideas can you think of to make these activities easier, and to keep you more organized? Maybe your idea involves making where the item lives better organized, or maybe you have a great idea for something that is easy to access and contains all your needed items.

Things to keep in mind:

• Think about versatility, customization (in configuration or design), and remember it must have a snap of some kind.

• Keep the user in mind. If it is a child using the item, can you make it fun?

• If it does live there permanently, can you make it look presentable?
