Name Search Product: A lawn mower blade that more efficiently cuts grass for a healthier, greener lawn.

Deadline: Tuesday, May 10th, 2010

Challenge Details: Referred to by the inventor as the “Samurai” blade, this rotary lawn mower blade slices, rather than chops, grass blades for a healthier, greener lawn.

As with a Samurai sword, this lawn mower blade features a curved blade that cleanly slices through grass blades. Samurai warriors utilizing curved swords were clearly more lethal because their weapon enabled them to expend less energy as they sliced their way through objects and opponents (cue Kill Bill). Fighters using traditional straight-edged swords had less-effective and more tiresome “chopping,” hacking swings (cue Princess Bride).

This product provides a superior-looking lawn to standard lawn mower blades. Up close, grass blades cut by a standard mower blade appear torn or ripped off at the tips. This product results in cleaner, practically scissored ends, making them less susceptible to disease.

This unique blade is compatible with most mass market rotary lawn mowers.

Target Customers: Homeowners with lawns to maintain.

Competitors: none

Pricepoint: TBD, most likely $19.95-$29.95

Distribution Channels: All
