Remember only 3% of patents worldwide make money for the patent holder from actual product sales. If you are not ready to defend your patent against infringement you may want to reconsider your options? My last patent cost about $42,000. If you are an individual inventor you may want to consider filing for a Provision Patent (PPA), copyrights, trade secrets, trade marking ect… This gives you a year plus to find out if you have a marketable idea and/or a formal business deal. If your product doesn’t appeal to anyone then you have not lost much money. If you do find a market you can reinvest your money to start the Patent Process.
