Why invent?

So I've been inventing, or at least thinking up ideas, for some 15 years now. I recently came across this site and thought it was a great idea, considering the sometimes lengthy and horrid process of bringing an idea to a product. After submitting an idea I started to think of why I've always wanted to have my products come to fruition. Is it the potential money, of course that would be great but it's not my number one reason. Really the reason I continue to come up with ideas and always ponder possibilities is because it's what we as humanity do. Innovating is a part of life, to improve and expand life as we know it. It's in our nature to create, to modify, to simplify and to generally improve our day to day lives. Every idea I have had to date started with an observation or experience that I thought I could improve on. In some way I thought I could make the process or tool or item easier or more comfortable. This is why I invent, the main reason, and why I will continue to do so for years to come regardless of monetary reward. The simple fact that one can benefit financially from intellectual property is merely an added bonus. Sites like this help simplify the process of getting ideas out there, in the real world, for others to benefit from. Offering a monetary claim for the ideas used is a great way to help continue to process of innovation, as some of the best ideas come from the least likely places and this gives us a voice....
