Proto-Form Plastic Prototyping

March 16, 2009

ProtoForm is a plastic prototyping studio located in Rogers (just off Hwy I-540). We specialize in clamshell and blister packaging. Our clients are primarily graphic design and marketing firms serving Walmart vendors. Most of our work comes from word-of-mouth referrals. We consult and collaborate with inventors and product development companies on their products and prototyping needs, including, design, customizing and build-out. Our main focus is on plastic-type products but we have capabilities in many other fields. Some of our services include original model making, mold making (silicone & urethanes), resin casting (urethanes, epoxy, etc.), vacuum forming, and more. Protoform offers very competitive pricing, fast turn-around, and can make modifications quickly, saving you valuable time. Let us amaze you with our ability to take your "napkin drawing" to a 3-d tangible piece. Give us a call or email and let's see if we can help. Initial consultation is free and we would be happy to give you references and/or sign a NC/ND. R. Scott Melton (479) 790-5074 scott@proto4m.com

The Value of Prototypes

March 17, 2009

Inventors need a prototype to communicate their idea to patent attorneys, investors, and manufactures. Prototypes can not only represent the finished look of your item, but they can prove functionality. This step is critical for the patent process, as well as, troubleshooting unforeseen issues. Trust is the first big hurdle to get over when disclosing you idea for a new invention. We understand that! However, an idea is like a seed, if never planted, it can never grow to be fruitful. We take your trust and our reputation very seriously. We have many personal and professional references to offer you. We will also sign a non-disclosure and no-compete agreement for each of your ideas. Many of the inventor's prototypes we do cost around a $1000. We are willing to work with you to make it affordable and help your idea succeed. Preliminary evaluation and initial consultation is free! Contact us and let's get your idea growing today. scott@proto4m.com 479-790-5074

Live Search Elimination

June 02, 2009

Don't be to discouraged about your product live search elimination. It doesn't necessarily mean that you product idea is bad. You must take into consideration that the Edison Nation evaluators are working with a very narrow concept search focus for each client, as well as, dealing with price point, production logistics and many other issues for each idea. Out of the hundreds of submissions, they have to narrow it down to a handful of ideas to present to their clients. The chances of your idea meeting their criteria are some what better than winning the lottery. However, all in all it is a pretty cheap Loto ticket! Where else can you send in your idea to trust worthy outfit (associated with PBS) for only $25 and have a chance of getting it in front of a ready buyer. If you are fortunate to have one of the ideas that are chosen, how much would it cost you to put together a professional presentation for a fortune 500 buyer? I would say more than $25! Even though I am thankful for the opportunities that the EN Live Search provides, it still would be much better if they would provide a reason (one sentence) why a product idea is turn-down.
