Poorly designed Treadmills
November 06, 2009
If indeed “necessity is the mother of invention” are there any problems out there that need to be addressed/solved innovative ideas or redesign so they are simpler to use, customize?
My specialty is sports and exercise equipment, and health and beauty products/equipment. I will redesign or modify a product to meet your special needs.
I have observed that quiet a good number of products are designed or manufactured by people who don’t use them. Consequently these people design equipment that are not intuitive, and easy to use.
For example the Precor C966 Commercial Club Model Treadmill 16 MPH
This machine has short handles. If the power goes out when you are running on this treadmill at 12 MPH or more you could be seriously injured. The short handles don’t give you room to jump on them when the machine stops abruptly due to power failure. Take a look at its image at the link below….

Another poorly designed expensive treadmill I have seen is the Lifefitness “Lifestride 9500HR Next Generation”
This $6000.00 beast has handles that have sharp edges (rectangular cross section). You cannot hold onto them for extended time periods. Lifefitness you can do better!!!
