Why we collect personal information
At Edison Nation, we value our members and inventors and respect your privacy. We collect information about you for the sole purpose of providing you with communications regarding products, services, programs and information that we think you’ll find interesting or to enable you to view a personalized dashboard through which to track your idea submissions.

We collect your email address when you subscribe to our newsletter and then ask for your first name, last name, a user name and password when you submit an invention idea through our portal.
There are a number of situations in which your personal information may help us provide better service. For example:
- We may ask for your personal information when you’re discussing a service issue on the phone or via email, joining Edison Nation as a member or Insider Member, or submitting an idea to an Innovation Search.
- When you interact with Edison Nation, we may collect personal information relevant to the situation, such as your name, mailing address, phone number, email address, and contact preferences; your credit card information and information about innovation that you submitted to an Innovation Search, such as patent information; and information relating to a support or service issue.
- We collect information regarding customer activities on our websites. This helps us to determine how best to provide useful information to customers and to understand which parts of our websites are of most interest to them.
- We may use personal information to provide services that you have requested as well as for auditing, research, and analysis to improve our services.
