What a cool idea, basically took a water soak-er, tweaked it and came up with a new invention…

That thing is AWESOME! I’m gettin’ at least one(gonna show the link to a few friends first) I’m sure I’m not the only one who would have a BLAST with one of those here in south Florida. Great link Greg. Thanks!!! I thought his video was very well done. I like that it shows some of what went into his process.

way cool!!! Not so much the invention, (pretty neat), but the fact that an inventor ran a campaign to launch an invention. Kickstarter and their “ART” keeps so many inventors looking for a resource to run a campaign. Go Indiegogo!!! Go!

Just the other day the two grandsons were being a little roudy and loud, so I thought, we got about six flies buzzing around here and got out the flyswatter. Gave the boys a quarter each time they picked up a dead fly and threw it away. lol they got real quiet for awhile. Probably would have been more fun with that, but they would wanted to shoot each other. :(

Believe it or not, rock salt has been used in shot guns for years as a “less” lethal form of ammo. I think it has even been used in riot control in the past. Might have played into the inspiration.
All the same, great idea! And Really great execution! (no pun intended).

Didn’t Granny on the “Beverly Hillbillies”, use salt in her shotgun? hehe I’m sure they were using it long before that. I imagine that the salt, being shot at a fly, would be like regular buckshot to a human. I would guess, even sand, would work in it too.

Ahhh, that explains the inspiration to use salt. With one of those I may even be able to convince the kids to “swat” (as in swat team) flies.

YUP… out back behind our house as kids was a orchard…. The rancher used to shoot kids with salt pellets… eeeeeeek… we were so scared of the thought we kept to catching crawdads at the creek !!!

But YEAH… it has been used !!!!!!!

Todd…. you bought one ?? back to look …….. :)))))))))))))))))))))) just MORE fun for Tayvin !!!!!! :))))))))))

Fahren…Yep…Bought one and can’t wait for it to be delivered. I just love good clever ideas, and while $30 is a lot for a glorified fly swatter, I get to help an entrepreneur and have a good conversation piece too. LOL I bet it’ll be a real “blast” to have out on the patio too. ;-P

Im waiting for the pistol version…

Fahren when we were kids we had the same thing. All the farms that had fruit crops had 12 guages with rock salt in them to keep animals and people from “helping themselves”

One day me and my friend Jimmy were plundering a strawberry patch when we heard the farmer coming, we were not to worried because before he could get close enough to use the shot gun we could out run him to get over the fence at the far end of the field. On this day he got a little closer than we thought he could, so the race to get over the fence was on. I cleared the fence just fine but Jimmy who was wearing bell bottoms had a small problem. Just as he threw his leg over the fence the bell bottoms got caught on the top of the wires that stick out the top. So there he was one foot on the ground and the other foot stuck on top of the fence rail. Needles to say this put him in quiet the position for the farmer to take target practice at his back side.. When I drug Jimmy home it took about 3 hours for me and his mom to dig all the salt pellets out of his butt and other areas… It took a couple of weeks before Jimmy was ready to go strawberry picking again.

Their timing is perfect, the flies are sticky right now, I go to a meeting and every once in a while you here the fly swatter hitting a table or wall… with EXTREME prejudice!
