Cool new dice by a fellow Edison Nation inventor on Kickstarter

brainstream's Avatargold

A friend of mine, and the guy who introduced me to EN, has a KS campaign for some awesome new dice designs which is just about over with, but which I thought I would post anyway, just in case anybody has some “gamers” in the family who might want a pair or two. AKO (Another Kind Of) dice a very interesting concept, and looking at the numbers, he far exceeded his expectations and has a real hit on his hands. LOL He was asking for $5000. Last look, he was at $121,300! Check it out. 39 hours left!

My brother would love these! Despite the fact that he’s an adult with a wife and child, he has curiously taken up a second life as a sith acolythe (dark side Jedi, for those wondering.) But hey, I imagine sith lords play dice games when they’re not seeking death and destruction, and hey, those glow in the dark AKOs would look pretty sweet with his light saber!

I wonder what a casino would offer to license exclusive rights?

I work at a casino and was thinking the same thing Jacob! I could definitely see those on the craps tables. I would love to have a pair myself!

Jacob,
I would think they would need to be rigorously tested for complete unbiased balance to be eligible for a casino.

I absolutely love the new design. Very sharp, very cool and just plain neat !!

However, unless each die face is perfectly balance within itself and perfectly balanced with the other die faces I don’t believe any casino will come calling soon. On the other hand, I don’t see how Parker Brothers and other table game makers can stay away.

Casinos? Nah, they’re to particular, now D ‘n’ D players would love this. All they need to make now is multi sided dice. My cousin has a whole slew of dice ranging from 3 going all the way up to 20.

Kacha also had his first set of “Zen dice” funded on KS, but not even close to the response he got with the AKO dice

Oh. I was under the impression that the length and depth of the scores on these dice accumulated to equal side/side, and corner/corner distribution. Buyer beware, huh!

I guess that’s why casinos fill in the dots on their di.

Jonathan, I hear you on the D ‘n’ D. I have a friend who uses so many di; he keeps them in a fancy little pouch.
