RIP - Rocket Bob Windt

jdowney9000's Avatargold

Robert “Rocket Bob” Windt passed away this week.

Bob was the runner up on ABC’s Toy Box; season 2 this year. He was also a contestant on Junkyard wars back in the 90s.

Here's a short video of Bob on Toy Box:

I don’t get to watch much TV. I missed it all together. But I can tell you from personal experience; the whole town is sad about it.

I can see Bob’s house from mine.

…Time is so fleeting.

Bob was a local hero. His place was a place to go for anyone. I remember as a child how cool it was every Sunday to see Bob in the front row of Church with 5 to 10 of the local kids. Rule breakers, bullys, trouble makers at school. He would bargain to take them bowling. Or swimming. Or to get some fast food.

Bob would go to schools to teach kids about rocket science and aerodynamics. He built Hovercrafts that won awards, international races, and revolutionized the industry.

Bob will surely be welcomed in the next world for his duties here.

Rest in peace Bob.

Jacob - Thanks for sharing this. Seems like a very interesting man, and great to hear how he shared his love of innovation with those in his community and how he wanted the kids to be involved. Sounds like he was truly a special person !!

Thank you Scott.

I was like; "There's going to be a lot of slack to take up with Bob gone."

But after considering, I realized that Bob helped fill our community with slack-taker-uppers.

He set a good example for us all.

What a special man!  The love for his mission was evident in the video, so I'm sure it will be a great loss for the community.  Well done, good and faithful servant.

Thanks Kim and Kathleen. I showed my mom, brother, and sister; and they totally appreciate the comments.

Bob's remains are now resting in Oak Grove Cemetery. And his spirit is partying like it's Advent Season.
