I need help, please tell me what to do, have a great idea

bobbybutternut's Avatar

first sorry if this is hard to understand, i have neurological deficits its hard to form sentences so for the pompous people please understand this. Hi I am bobby butternut I am a young male and I have a really great idea that surprisingly after researching  a ton, no one has ever thought of this. i will not speak to it but I have no clue what to do in order to make this an official product or get help. i cant even put together a prototype i would need help with a designer or something as they would be better equipped. i just have the idea and use and essentially what the product would be in mind. i think some type of company or whoever would be interested in my idea. im not out to make money but i want to have my fair share for creating it and i know for a fact that many men after research would be highly interested in this and would purchase it. it is a big problem solver for many men. what can i do???????? What do I need to do seeing as I have the idea but I dont have a prototype? I dont think ill ever be able to make one, i think someone could work off my idea and be better than i at doing that.

i have no clue on what to do, first off - who the heck do i need to contact? what happens if they are interested? i dont want my idea being stolen or anything. and it would be hard for me to meet up or engage anyone face to face  due to personal issues.

because all i have is the idea, i feel it would be very easy for someone who does have the ability to work off my idea and make a prototype, it would be simple to use me and leave me out in the dark.

all i really have is the idea essentially.. thats all. no prototype. could a company or whoever work off of that and i still benefit?

point me in right direction.

i have a feeling this product will be very popular and it is kind of a weird embarrassing idea to be known for, is there any way i could be recognized by the company or whoever but not by the general public?

i know this sounds     silly and i do have an issue with writing and articulating myself so i apologize, but after doing much research i know this idea will gain interest

Hi Bobby!

Thank you for posting and welcome to Edison Nation!

If you're interested in sharing your idea with us to be evaluated for potential licensing opportunities, the first step I always recommend is reviewing the information found on the Edison Nation Help Page.

Here you can find details about how to submit an idea, our evaluation process and our standard terms and conditions.

Once you have reviewed this information, if you have any additional questions on our process, please send an email with your questions to questions@edisonnation.com.

Hope this helps to clarify and we look forward to reviewing your idea soon!

Bobby, you're in the right place. Now become a sponge and soak up knowledge.

Chase, Spot-on. I see the same four questions come up about every two months.

I believe it has to do with a large amount of information available, combined with little reference for what is accurate; and how accurate.

Bobby, think profit per cubic foot per hour. And consider the difference between a phone and a phone with a "speaker phone". The additional circuitry (or replacement circuitry) is the technology that (in most customers opinion) improves the phone.

bobby, do not share your idea here in the forums, as that would be considered public disclosure. Take the advice of Chase and Jacob and research all the great information already available here. Best of luck!

Hi Bobby,

I might suggest you reach out to Roger Brown he was a contributor to these forums for many  many  years and really helped a lot of us get on our feet.

He has a Ebook about inventing that he has sent to people like yourself for free in the past. Perhaps if you contact him, he can help you

I found Rogers book Common sense Inventinig very very helpful. its too bad hes not part of these forums anymore but I know he is still active in the inventing community and an avid inventors advocate.

I am not an insider so I cannot post links - but google Roger Brown Common Sense Inventing and look up his email. Drop him a line.

Best in your pursuits.
