Hi, Roger moved on, as did a lot of other folks at the same time, you will notice Sarah Mann, Frank White, and others have left the forum, not just stopped participating but actually left.  Maybe things were just not really appreciated for truth and honesty - or maybe they did stir the pot a bit, but that is just really a loss to this community.  Who is left here are folks TRYING not Doing.  For me, I would rather get advice from someone who had experience and some prior success than the rest of us trying to figure it out.

Erin sorry but growth, Inventing is HARD Work, taking a product from the back of a napkin concept to reality is very very hard work (as I well know as i am in the real world now with my own product out marketing, making, selling, etc...if you think some of the things Roger or others had said in an attempt to brace folks for what might come their way,  wait till you get into the REAL World with your items.  Even the best of ideas will be met with critical and not so kind comments -  I appreciated that he and these others always took the high ground, while still trying to give experienced advice to those of us on our own paths.  Best to you all.

Hi Carlos, also see the Did EN Houseclean Thread - this will help enlighten you.  Its a concerning situation, for sure. I will be curious to see how EN handles this.  I always personally think being up front even in the face of difficulties is the best but?  Best to you.

Good afternoon to all.

First, please take note of the rules of these forums. Any form of disrespect to to anyone will not be tolerated and those posts will be removed, regardless of their status within the Edison Nation community.

That being said, as I have noted in prior threads, how people chose to participate or not is their choice. No one was forced out of the community or forced to remove their accounts. We respect anyone's decision whether or not to participate in these forums and in this community. Again, this is their choice and efforts being made to continue to provoke negativity will also not be tolerated. If community members have issues with anyone or anything in particular, please send a direct message to me or email me and I will do everything in my power to resolve the situation.

It is the goal of the Edison Nation forums to provide an inclusive environment where our community members can collaborate in a healthy, positive, inclusive manner, and we will continue to do so with each and every post.

Thank you.

Hey everyone, I just found this thread online. It looks like Roger Brown is keeping busy since leaving EN. I see he was the main speaker at the Alamo Inventors group this month. Alamoinventors.org. Miss the “Lessons” threads he wrote.  Guest Speaker:

Roger Brown

Topic:

Product To Market Without Debt

Roger Brown is our speaker for November 2017 and will present how to get your product to market without going in debt in the process. Roger will discuss (1) a patent does not equal marketability; (2) big companies aren’t always the best; (3) why companies are reluctant to deal with inventors; and (4) don’t over invent your product.

Roger is a serial inventor licensing 11 of his products in the toy, tool, kitchen, eyewear and nuclear industry spending less than $100 on each and some as little as $8. He did it using only a sell sheet and an NDA, no PPA, and no patent. They are Knockout Hockey, Power Pitch Horseshoes, Quick Clip, Pizza Scissors, Super Sleever, Ball Valve Extractor tool and the Pebble Peeler.

He is the author of the popular ebook, “Common Sense Inventing”. Roger won the National DOE Pollution Prevention award spending less than $200 on materials to develop a device called the Super Sleever which saved the DOE facility 4 million dollars a year in waste reduction. He worked for Edison Nation as a product licensing manager for 3 years; has reviewed thousands of products; and pitched products to major companies, so he has seen both sides of the industry.

Roger has been a coach/mentor to many inventors on how to get their inventions licensed and marketed with little investment. His methods have attracted T.V news, national news radio shows, Inventor’s Digest magazine and blogs wanting interviews about his untraditional successes.

Roger has been a guest speaker at colleges wanting to inspire their students about innovation and how to acquire licensing agreements. He is a respected contributor on a number of Inventor forums and has spoken to Inventor groups around the country. With his no nonsense approach, Roger has made himself the person to contact for anyone wanting to succeed with their ideas/product. His ebook “Common Sense Inventing” is being reviewed for possible inclusion in college curriculum. He helped put together the inventor group listing used by most inventor resource websites. And his “Inventing Terms Inventors Should Know Explained in Plain English” is quickly becoming the go to resource for industry definitions.

If you are looking for a no nonsense approach to licensing this is a method you want to learn.

Note: This will be a live, interactive, remote presentation.

Oh cool, I have been thinking of joining the Alamo group since I spend so much time in SA now, I never get to attend the Houston meetings.  I'll check it out.  They must be a decent size to have Roger do a remote presentation for them. Sorry I missed it.  Thanks for the info.

Hey Carlos! Good to see ya again... it's been a while. Hope all is well.  Take care!

Hey you are welcome.  Been busy with my own project. Have yet another show this weekend, so that has taken most of my energy - the little I still have LOL.

Best Crystal

Congratulations, Greg.

Was this related to your WorldWise submission? I remember them having costing issues that prevented a product launch.
