Use what's on the market, or create my own?

Hi! Im new and this is my first post.

Im developing a new process.  Part of the process requires a heating element to heat liquid to a specific temperature. I have found an existing product that will work for my purposes.  My question is should I incorporate the existing product into my process (and kit that will be for sale), or contact a manufacturer to attempt to have my own version of the product made?  I hope to patent my process,  and possibly obtain a new use patent for the heating element. Thanks in advance for your help!
