Nice commercial! Although more emphasis needs to be on the fact that it holds 19 and leaves 5 out of 2 dozen to be consumed while setting it up.

Elizabeth - Great work...you know I have always loved this innovation, and we had been close on deal at one time, but your persistence and believe in your product should be commended. I know what you have put into this and couldn't be happier to see it continue to evolve and take the next step. Kudos to you.

P.S. - Mark I like your discovery there...the 5 cupcakes are sort of like a Convenience Fee that the user pays to themselves for the effort to set it up !! Leave no cupcake behind.

I didn't remove them from the bubble-wrap but the racks look awesome - so well-made with perfect shape and finish, not to mention heavy-duty construction so they stay perfect. I understand now more fully what a challenge it was for you to find the right manufacturer!

Elizabeth, nice commercial.  Glad to see your cupcake rack continue to make strides.  I hope it becomes a household name and that you and your family reap many benefits.  You have certainly put forth a ton of work into making this dream become a reality.

Liz, I swear I've never walked so far while being eyed over by creepy salesman. I was so out of breath, and without a clue. I wasn't sure where I was going.

For those who don't know, it's not your average boat show. This is a full pro trade show.

I felt like a pizza delivery driver who turned onto a NASCAR track.

Some 2400, yes twenty four hundred, booths. 64,000 attendees throughout 5 buildings with three floors.

I was wondering why the website wasn't clear on a ticket price. Turns out the people wouldn't let me in the event without registering with a company.

I said; "Oh, I'm not with a company. I just wanted to visit and see the displays. Learn a bit."

She replied; "Well that's fine, but you have to register with a company."

So I registered with the website I host; through my parish. They were fine with that, and let me pay out a crisp $100. And I learned lessons worth every penny.

Thanks guys.  What a great experience was had by all who attended the American Dreams Academy by HSN, Quirky, and University of Tampa.

Please allow me a few days to get my bearings as I was in the Bahamas the week before, then Tampa, and then...I turned 60 yesterday, OMG!  That's a weird feeling just saying it.

Anyway, I'll write about my experience including links for you all to apply to attend one of the Academies.  It's well worth it!

Later...or sooner ")

Happy belated Birthday Liz.....what a few weeks you have had !!

Robert Pontius

Thank you Scott!

Yes, the past few weeks have been crazy!  First the Bahamas, then Florida, then celebrating my 60th birthday~whew!  I thought I would have a few minutes to catch up, that is until I had an abscess in my tooth causing my jaw to swell up like a baseball!  With the help of antibiotics, I'm finally doing much better.

The trip to Florida was so amazing as an inventor and entrepreneur.  HSN, Quirky, Womens Leadership Live, and The University of Tampa hosted the American Dreams Academy with many top exec speakers and leaders presenting a plethora of topics with the hopes of helping entrepreneurs, like us, increase their business knowledge.  There were 85 students including me.

The speakers included Randi Zuckerberg, Founder of FaceBook Live and sister of FaceBook Founder Mark Zuckerberg, JJ Ramberg, MSNBC Host, Dara Trujillo, HSN VP, Bob Circosta, Billion Dollar Man, Lou Lentine, Viatek, Dr. Kevin Moore, UT, Adam Freeman, HSN Host, Rowland Hobbs, Teneo, Gina Waldhorn, Quirky, Chris Gassett, HSN, Rhonda Shear, AAAh Bra, Matt Demers, HSN, Roger Allen, LSQ, Andrew Beamon, SCORE, Lissa Regets, Quirky.

Topics ranged from Social Media, to packaging, to branding, to pitching, and more.

All the entrepreneurs were selected by invitation, free of charge!  Can you believe that!  Two full days of all these experts sharing their knowledge with us and then a day of pitching to HSN, Quirky, and Viatek, all at no charge.  Dara teasingly was calling herself a 'giver', but in reality, there was no teasing about it!  All these pros are Givers!  They all want to help entrepreneurs learn and advance.  They all want to give back.  And they are!

The students were all inventors and entrepreneurs, all in different stages of their business.  Some just had ideas, some had full blown products, some had services, one couple had a book, some are successful already, some are newly wanting to become entrepreneurs.  The camaraderie was wonderful and everyone was rooting for each other during their pitches.

All the experts wanted to answer any and all questions that the students asked and were hoping to teach and lead us all to a better understanding of business.

It was amazing.  All the people involved were fantastic and truly givers!  I'll never forget my experience for those few days in Tampa!

Little Roy and Shaanon got to go with me to Tampa.  After the last five years of hardships, Little Roy's tragedy, Shaanon becoming an RN, the trial, the highs and lows, it was time for them to be able to take a little vaca.  They LOVED it!  What a great time we had together.

HSN offers the American Dreams Academy on a regular basis.  The first was held in Washington, DC in November, 2017 and then the second was in Tampa in January 2018.  You can apply to be invited to attend.  The airfare and hotel are paid for by the student, however the event itself is FREE!  They even feed you!!!

Next HSN American Dreams Academy and Pitch is August 15-16/17.

Deadline to apply is August 3.

From Elizabeth's glowing description of her experience this seems like a great opportunity to learn about entrepreneurship/inventing and potentially to pitch your idea/product.
