For your submission(s), consider the following:
• Colgate products are traditionally known for providing added functionality and superior packaging solutions
• Colgate is interested in innovations within the toothpaste/ toothpaste gel sub-category
• Colgate is interested in innovations for a means to clean, complete and easier toothpaste and toothpaste gel dispensing.
Within its world-leading Oral Care division, Colgate’s customers most commonly complain about the difficulties of toothpaste dispensing. Whether it’s a suggestion to discover a way to completely squeeze out the tube contents or frustration over the messy build up that accumulates around the nozzle, customer feedback declares that they want better toothpaste solutions.
We encourage you to submit a visual representation of your product (i.e., sketch or photo). While not required, we highly encourage you to submit video of yourself demonstrating a prototype and explaining the features and benefits of your submission. Additionally, Colgate-Palmolive prefers submissions accompanied by professional drawings. Please be as detailed as possible in telling us about your innovation. As always, your submission must be unique and protectable.
Innovative Oral Care submissions should:
• Be intuitive to use
• Provide added value
• Appeal to Colgate-Palmolive’s target customers, which include median-income shoppers that purchase products that appeal to all ages and both genders
• Have a pricepoint below $6
Colgate will not consider submissions for modifications to the toothpaste products themselves (i.e. a new toothpaste formula or flavor).

Is my idea secure?
Yes! Every idea that is submitted to Edison Nation remains private. If your idea is selected to be presented to a partner, we have strict NDAs in place. Your intellectual property is extremely important to us.
If my idea is selected, what do I get?
If your idea is selected for licensing, we will remain in contact with you and our partner from the moment the deal is signed until it is ready for the marketplace. Our team negotiates competitive royalty structures and all licensing revenues are split 50/50 with you, the original inventor.
Why do I have to pay $25?
$25 is a nominal fee to help offset the costs Edison Nation takes on to review each idea that's submitted. It is a one-time cost. If your idea is selected for licensing, we will navigate the road to commercialization -- all at no cost to you. If you are an Edison Nation Insider, the submission fee is only $20!
What do I need to submit?
We'll review all ideas, whether it's a sketch on a napkin or a prototyped invention. You don't need a patent to submit an idea to Edison Nation.
