Patient gowns can usually be found among the top complaints of hospital patients. From the constant draft to the embarrassment of revealing a little too much to family and friends during your hospital stay, the design of the patient gown leaves much to be desired. Did you know the patient gown hasn’t changed much at all since the early 1900s? Edison Nation Medical is hoping to change that.
Edison Nation Medical is seeking innovations to the design of today’s hospital patient gown. In addition to discomfort, the current gown design can also lead to complications, such as surgical hypothermia. When submitting your ideas, please consider the needs of health care providers in addition to the patient. Make sure your gown is easy to clean (no Velcro!) and has a low production cost (keep in mind the average hospital gown retails for $2 – $3 per piece).
Requirements
We ask for well-communicated ideas. This includes filling out our easy-to-use submission form to the best of your ability. Upload images, sketches and any other media that support your idea. Tell us your story. We even encourage you to create a video demonstrating your innovation. Don’t worry. We don’t expect you to break out your inner Spielberg. Please keep videos to less than 2 minutes.
Your submission should be unique and protectable (we love to see patented ideas but that isn’t required).
Each idea costs just $25 ($20 for Edison Nation Medical Insiders) to submit. Click here for more details on Innovation Searches.
